This is our main fund-raising event each year and the exhibition provides to the visitor, an excellent snapshot of the Town of Inveraray past and present. We raised over £5000 in 2009 and hope to match, or better this total this year. With organisations finished for the summer, this issue has a round- up of recent events and will be circulated in hotels and B & B’s for visitors. News, views and features in a ‘Nutshell’, the name given to the newsletter taken from a previous newsletter produced in the late 60s, aims to provide short snippets of news from as many groups and organisations with the community as possible. Sponsored Walk for Sunday Club On Saturday 26th September, David Cherrie and his son Lewis, Tom Paterson and Yvonne Black went on a sponsored walk for the Sunday Club and made over £1034! They walked from the Front Green to the Dunaquaich Tower, had a bite to eat and walked back down again. Well done. Click on the image for the Larger Picture We Make Music Each month we have a musical evening for anyone who plays an instrument or sings or just likes to listen. They are held at alternate venues on a Wednesday evening in the Manse or Chalmers Court and have been very successful evenings of informal singing and listening to the music with a cup of tea added in. The numbers keep rising and we may eventually have to move to a larger venue but in the meantime we will squeeze in. Click to enlarge Christmas Fayre and ‘A Night with Alastair McDonald’ Setting up for the big day Christmas Fayre 2009 Held in the Church Hall on 28th November 2009, we had a very successful Christmas Fayre with numbers up on previous years and a busy tea room. Also included this year we had a Santa’s Grotto which was a great attraction for all the children. A Night with Alastair McDonald.
